Recently  Bay Community News has received emails highlighting a viral video on the Internet that claims that Ferguson, Missouri, former resident Michael Brown, now deceased as a result of a police shooting, had previously been videotaped beating up an old black man in Dallas, Texas.

Several news publications and Internet postings have exposed the video as a fraud but yet the claim still exists that it was Michael Brown who beat up the old man adding fuel to the Ferguson controversy.

Bay Community News has done its own forensic investigation of the video of the beating and file photos of Mr.  Brown and have compared them finding that there appears to be no likeliness connection whatsoever between the two individuals.

Bay Community News has forwarded these photographs to the Bay County Sheriff’s Office, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, and the Office of State Attorney Glenn Hess, 14th Judicial Circuit, to request a facial recognition opinion as to whether these two individuals are the same individuals, or not.

Law enforcement agencies have access to state and federal advanced facial recognition software and databases that they use on a routine basis.  This software and database is routinely used to identify criminals who are caught on video engaged in fraud or other criminal activities at public stores or elsewhere.

It should be routine for these agencies to (1) identify who these individuals are and (2) to determine if they are the same individuals.

When a response is received from any of these agencies, this story will be updated.
