The Bay County Sheriff’s Office has charged Edward Daniels, II, age 21, of Kelly Court in Callaway, with Tampering with Evidence in connection to the attack of a 7 year old child by one of two bulldogs owned by Daniels.
The attack took place yesterday at about 2:46 p.m. near Daniel’s home on Kelly Court.
Investigators with the Criminal Investigations Division believe that Daniels washed blood off the face and paws of his dog when he realized the dog was involved in an attack. Daniels stated to investigators he did wash the blood off his dog but he believed it was the blood of another animal.
Investigators believe Daniels had to know the attack involved a child because of the proximity of the incident to his home and of the desperate actions of neighbors and the parents of the child to chase the dogs away from the child and administer aid to the child.
Daniels was charged today with felony Tampering with Evidence and remains in the Bay County Jail on Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia charges. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending.
