Beazley Failed To Appear In Court Today. A Warrant Has Been Issued For His Arrest And A Hold Without Bond Issued. Additionally, his bond has been forfeited.

The State had a motion that was granted that would have prevented  any mention of State v. Gage, which was dismissed last week, and the fact that the Bay County Sheriff’s Department Special Inventions Unit had been involved in this case.

Earlier Story:

In Judge Fensom’s Court today, there is a jury trial in the matter of State vs. Jeremiah Eugene Beazley.

He is on trial for:

Beazley was arrested on August 9, 2012 after a narcotics investigator observed a drug transaction on August 9, 2012, in the parking lot of a convenience store on Front Beach Road, Panama City Beach.

When the investigator attempted to apprehend the man, he struggled with the investigator and then fled on foot. As the investigator pursued, he saw the suspect throw something in a ditch. This package was later recovered and proved to be a large amount of prescription pills. The suspect was caught a few blocks away and was identified as Jeremiah Beazley, DOB 12/18/76, a transient.

From the package Beazley attempted to discard while fleeing law enforcement, investigators recovered over 700 prescription pills consisting mostly of Oxycodone (roxies) and hydromorphone. Possession of pills in this amount carries a minimum mandatory prison sentence of 25 years.
