The Bay County Sheriff’s Office announced today the apprehension on Panama City Beach of two escaped prisoners from the Franklin County CI.
Joseph Jenkins and Charles Walker were taken into custody at approximately 5:20 pm at the Coconut Grove Motel on Front Beach Road in Panama City Beach.
Members of the Bay County Sheriff’s Office, the United States Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force, FDLE, the Florida Department of Corrections and the Panama City Police Department developed information two days ago the two men were staying on Panama City Beach. This afternoon they narrowed to search to the Coconut Grove Motel, room 227.
About 20 members of the task force surrounded the room and a message was sent using a PA system instructing Jenkins and Walker to come out. About a minute later, both men exited the room with their hands in the air and were taken into custody without incident.
Both have been taken to the Bay County Jail.
