Witnesses to the shooting confirmed the subject was the shooter and he was identified as David Jamichael Daniels, a black male, age 22, of Mobile, Alabama.

“This was the sixth firearm related call of the evening. In one incident a firearm was discharged inside a condominium. Four firearms were seized in drug related cases.

“Assisting agencies were the Florida Highway Patrol, Panama City Beach Police Department, Walton County Sheriff’s Office, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Holmes County Sheriff’s Office, Gulf County Sheriff’s Office and Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.”

David Jamichael Daniels’ sister was contacted by Bay Community News and in tears she expressed that knowing her brother that he could not have committed these crimes and someone else must have done this.  Future court proceedings will determined this in Bay County.

According to BCSO jail booking records Daniels has been designated as under close confinement and supervision and categorized as a “suicide risk.”

Bay Community News is confident that BCSO will protect this inmate until his day in court.  Too many inmates have died in Florida custody under suspicious circumstances.
